The Vagus nerve and devotional practice
Your nervous system is one of the most critical aspects of your system for living in communion with your intuition/deeper guidance. When your nervous system is dysregulated, it is so difficult to access deeper states of vulnerability, surrender and heart opening. Remember our biology is the technology for accessing deeper states of bliss.
If our nervous system has kinks in it, it is difficult to experience the flow states we desire. When we can’t consistently experience the flow and ease we desire, we feel separate and disconnected from our deeper selves, others and life. A dysregulated system is a lack of coherence between heart, mind, spirit.
What causes an unbalanced Nervous system?
Modern life, daily stressors, trauma, repressed emotions, excessive consumption, toxic over load, over doing etc. addiction to fear, addiction to busy etc. all of these things contribute to activating the fight, flight or freeze response. Nervous system regulation requires an overhaul of your operating system and rewiring. It is ongoing deep work and it takes humility to notice when we are not regulated and be willing to restore our system to grounded, supple, surrender.
Breath work, chanting, Non linear movement, heart congruence and tapping are all tools that support embodiment and therefore regulation of our nervous system. If you are finding it difficult to connect, to surrender, to feel connected with your heart and the Unified field, the next step is to up the ante on your embodiment. The key to surrender is in feel safe enough within the Self to do so. If you don’t trust your emotions, if you don’t trust your reactions, if you don’t trust your capabilities, if you don’t trust others, it makes things more challenging to open into surrender.
** This is one of the most common things I come across in my work and that has been a pattern and challenge of my own for years. With consistent practice of embodiment (using the tools I teach you plus supporting my nervous system to reset using chiropractor, acupuncture, massage, baths, supplements, adequate rest, great nutrition, reducing stressors, saying no more etc. my capacity for surrender, connection, love, bliss, intuition expands astronomically).
Take an extra step this week and next to support your nervous system.
- Book an appointment for body work.
- Shift something in your diet that supports deeper well being.
- Set an alarm for earlier bed times.
- Soak in a magnesium bath.
- See a holistic practitioner for nervous system/hormone support (foods and supplements).
- Cancel things in your schedule that you don’t really want to do. Get out into the garden more.
- Swim in the ocean.
- Soak up the sun.
- Read a novel. Etc.
