Take this practice into your everyday life as a way of developing presence.
Notice when your mind becomes full with thought and you disassociate from the now by worrying/anticipating about the future or ruminating over the past.
When this happens, simply return to the breath and take a moment to invite yourself to reflect on what you're aware of that's actually happening in the here and now.
Continue to practice being with the sensations of the moment. Being with the sensations of the body. Use your breath and your focus to support you in cultivating a relationship with what is all around you.
Notice how much calmer your state of being becomes as a result.
